The Atakwa District is made up of Dillon, Florence, and Williamsburg counties and includes Florence, the headquarters city of the Pee Dee Area Council. The district serves over two thousand youth and their families annually and conducts a very active program year round. During the months of September through May, Atakwa has two roundtables to better serve its wide geographic range of units. The northern roundtable is held on the third Tuesday of each month at the council service center in Florence, while the southern roundtable is held on the third Thursday of each month at Mt. Zion United Methodist Church in Kingstree. Each roundtable is held at 7:00 p.m. on its respective night. Atakwa is ably served by Richard Johnson as its district executive. He can be reached at the council service center by calling (843) 662-6306x24.
