The leadership training philosophy of the Boy Scouts of America is to provide adult leaders with fundamental information about the aims and purposes of the movement, as well as specifics about their particular roles in Scouting.
Adult Scout Leader Training Programs:
Fast Start is a video tape, power point presentation, or web-based introduction to Scouting leadership. Convenient web-based sessions are available for new Leaders. Scouting Essentials is a 90-minute, FREE introduction to Scouting leadership, taught every few months. Keep an eye on the Calendar for future course dates and don't forget to attend the monthly roundtable in your district for more information.
Leader Specific Training for your Scout Program Level gets you into the details of advancement, age-appropriate activities, and more for your Scouting level.
Wood Badge is the ultimate in adult leader training. Originated by Lord Baden-Powell, the founder of Scouting, Wood Badge is designed to offer Scouters the opportunity to learn leadership and scoutcraft skills in an outdoor camping environment.
